STMS Jazz Receives Great Honor

The STMS Jazz Band has been invited to perform at the Florida Music Educators Association conference to be held in January, 2009.  This annual conference is held at the Tampa Convention Center and is held in conjunction with the Florida All-State groups.  More information will be out at the beginning of the year with regards to try-out information.  In the mean time, all students interested in being in the jazz band should attend our summer jazz camp which begins on June 16, 2008 and runs through June 27, 2008.

Band Camp

It is still not too late to sign up for the STMS Summer Music Camp.  Beginning Camp starts Monday, June 6, 2008 from 9-12.  For more information call the band room at 754-323-4321 or go to the band forms section and print a flyer.

Friends of the Arts Sponsorship

The band program at Silver Trail Middle School is proud to announce the continuation of its Friends of the Arts band patronage program. For those unfamiliar, this is a band sponsorship program.

In this program, the parents and the business community have an opportunity to help the band program without the usual fund raiser events. Funds generated by the Friends of the Arts will be used solely by the band program. This program will allow the band to; bring in clinicians to work with all students, purchase items the school budget does not allow us to purchase, and maintain the growth of band programs musical needs.
